Laboratory of Mural Drawing

Curso de Formação

Ano Letivo 2024/2025

Course Overview

Murals are important in that they bring art into the public sphere, reaching a wide audience. The ?Introduction to Mural Drawing? course is made up of laboratory practice workshops that provide basic drawing skills by hand, digital and Augmented Reality (AR), for the realisation and reading of a mural drawing. Adopting a dynamic concept of vision as a reference, insofar as culture and the personal and collective experiences that shape it are also mobile, some examples from the history of the visual arts will be travelled through, from prehistoric cave art to cathedrals to the streets, in order to appreciate the transformations in the ways artists have used to create murals. Throughout the course, using methodologies, techniques and pedagogical resources, practical exercises will be presented with a view to solving concrete problems in mural design of an experimental, exploratory and creative nature.
