Sustainable Development Goals
Learning Goals
This program aims enabling trainees to use basic concepts of immunology, associated with sensitization and
allergy, and an evidence-based approach, to: i) assess clinical contexts for diagnosis formulation, using
differential plans for different conditions; ii) explain to third parties the mechanisms involved in the process
under analysis, equating available prophylactic and therapeutic approaches for specific cases; iii) present and
discuss the most recommended therapeutic approach for each case and iv) present the owner with a
prognosis, justifying the proposed timetable for successive monitoring.
Case studies will focus on diagnostic criteria in a differential way and on therapeutic approach options,
supported by scientific evidence, aiming to encourage critical clinical reasoning, contextualized in scientifically
supported research attitudes (medical information literacy).

Teaching Methods
The online sessions, via zoom will consist of matter presentation in line with the program
sequence, on a weekly basis, allowing for the necessary monitoring and learning development, through
autonomous study, based on the available bibliography and autonomous research. Clinical trainees will also
use their own clinical cases to prepare a written presentation of a case of their choice, duly framed.
Teaching staff will provide tutorial support, through current electronic channels, namely e-mail and Moodle.
Slide presentations will also be available, as well as the respective video recordings, whenever authorized by
the authors.
Assessment
Final written knowledge assessment (multiple choice and short answers, justified) 70% score.
Presentation of a clinical case (sequenced of anamnesis, symptomatology, diagnosis, prophylaxis and
therapy) 30% score.
Approval upon obtaining a global score equal to or greater than 50% (equivalent to a score of 10 values on
a scale from 0 to 20).
