Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

The final project to be handed in at the end of this Aerospace Design course unit will be the result of the whole learning process in Aerospace Engineering. This course unit aims to provide students an effective supervision during their final project. Students are expected to:
i) be independent when developing an analytical, experimental, and/or computational model for producing a relevant output in any Aerospace Engineering subject;
ii) know the rules for drafting and presenting an academic and research report in Universidade de Évora.
iii) provide an oral presentation and public defense of their output.

Contents

The course unit Aerospace Project is worked by a group of Universidade de Évora professors who propose a relevant Aerospace Engineering subject. Students will choose one of the subjects proposed according to their preferences. The rules for experimental research and development of computational models will also be introduced, as well as for the statistical treatment and data analysis. The work plan for each student will be defined by the supervisor in coordination with the course coordinator, respecting and fulfilling the general objectives and competencies to develop in the curricular unit.

Teaching Methods

Theoretical-practical support classes that will help to define each student’s project and its presentation, accompanied by supervision of the student by a supervisor of a company and/or teachers at the various stages and tasks till the delivery of the report. The teaching methodology includes (i) Workshop sessions for presenting the set objectives; (ii) Individual student supervision in the development of their final course projects.

Assessment

The assessment elements of the Aerospace Design course are graded using the interval [0,20].
Continuous assessment or by final exam, by the Academic Regulations of the University of Évora.
Report and presentation in public session before the jury of the course. The final assessment for the Aerospace Design course unit will be the grade obtained in the public defense of the project. In this course, it is not possible to be assessed by final exam in any of the assessment periods.
