Course Overview
This degree course prepares multi-functional professionals ready to enter the job market in areas linked to animal science applied to the rearing, keeping and exploitation of animals and their respective populations (mammals, birds, fish, insects, etc.) for economic purposes, as pets and for sports and leisure. The course provides students with solid spiral training that encompasses the different levels of biological organisation (molecules, cells, organisms, populations and ecosystems). It also offers a short-term internship at companies and research centres, both in Portugal and abroad.

Career Prospects
In general terms, this degree trains graduates who will be able to work in companies associated with animal production, the processing of animal products, the use of animals for companionship, sport or leisure, as well as the conservation of animal species; Biotechnology and research; Federations and associations; Entities providing services with an animal component and oficial planning, regulation, administration or fiscalization bodies.
