Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

• • Deepen and consolidate knowledge acquired about various sports recreation and leisure activities, more specifically those related to sea sports,
• • Experience sea activities such as canoeing, sailing, surfing, widsurfing and diving;
• • Experience the implementation and operationalization, autonomously, by students, of projects in this field (in the sports, educational or business sector), opening perspectives of future applications in the sea sports job market.
•
• In practical terms, we want students to be able to develop skills related to:
• 1. Project planning strategies in the area of sea sports;
• 2. Technical and pedagogical ability to frame groups with different characteristics (students/clients) under different frameworks (class/animation/event).

Teaching Methods

This curricular unit encompasses practical activities such as sailing, canoeing, surfing, windsurfing and diving, so the pedagogical approach must be very practical and engaging. Here are the teaching methodologies that will be applied:
• Experiential Learning: allowing students to learn by doing. Taking them to natural environments suitable for each activity so that they can directly experience the techniques and practices.
• Practical and Demonstrative Classes: carry out practical classes with instructors specialized in each activity, demonstrating techniques, equipment and safety.
• Group Work: promote activities where students work as a team, planning and executing nautical activities, such as organizing events or simulated classes.

Assessment

The evaluation of this UC will preferably be carried out through a continuous evaluation process or, exceptionally, by carrying out a final evaluation at the place where the practical component is carried out.

In order for the student to be able to follow the continuous assessment process, in addition to the minimum attendance percentage, they must also comply with the additional requirements:
- Have a positive assessment (grade greater than or equal to 9.5) in the theoretical-practical component;

The Theoretical-Practical Classification takes into account the completion of a practical test in the different modalities covered and active participation in classes. This classification contributes a total of 80% to the final grade, with the remaining 20% related to other issues inherent to the student's participation (punctuality, attendance, commitment).
