The curricular internship aims to provide students with the integration and acquisition of knowledge and skills in a professional context, in response to the requirements of Directive 2013/55 / EU, of 20/11, in Community Pharmacy, or divided between Community and Hospital Pharmacies.

The curricular internship aims to provide students with the integration and acquisition of knowledge and skills in a professional context, in response to the requirements of Directive 2013/55 / EU of 20 November: 6 months, entirely in Community Pharmacy, or divided between Community Pharmacy (4 months) and Hospital Pharmaceutical Services (2 months).
Students must develop the knowledge and skills described in the Pharmaceutical Act, in accordance with Article 75 of DL no. 131/2015 of 4 September - Statute of the Order of Pharmacists.
Students should be able to: search / gather bibliography; analyze / interpret clinical data; criticize / discuss technical-scientific information; make oral / written communications; write a monograph / report; perform the critical analysis of scientific articles.
The student must develop responsible behavior, respecting the OF's ethical-deontological code, as well as acting with respect for industrial and / or intellectual property.

Contents

1. Community Pharmacy: organization and management; medicines, health products and medical devices; provisioning/storage; dispensation, counseling and pharmaceutical indication; pharmacotechnics; other pharmaceutical services; pharmacovigilance; pharmacist-team communication; and pharmacist-user communication;
2. Hospital Pharmacy: organization and management; selection, acquisition, storage and distribution of medicines; pharmacotechnics; clinical pharmacy; monitoring of clinical trials; pharmacovigilance; and technical-scientific commissions;
3. Seminars and internship visits.

Teaching Methods

This course will take place exclusively on a tutorial basis. The hours of internship in community pharmacy and/or hospital pharmacy represent almost the entire schedule, being complemented with seminars on topics of interest within the scope of the internship and OT (tutorial sessions with the head of the course).
The evaluation comprises two components:
1. Internship (50% of final):
a. The performance/ability to integrate the activity in a professional context (assessed by the supervisor of the internship location) (40%);
b. Case report, integrated in the activities of the developed internship (40%);
c. Oral presentation/discussion of b) and internship activities (20%);
2. Master Thesis (based on thematic monograph within the scope of the pharmacist's activity or research project) (50% of final):
a. Public proof, with an evaluation jury specifically created for this purpose.
The final grade will correspond to 50% Internship + 50% Dissertation.
