The UC presents the action of the community pharmacist, which comprises a dimension of action not necessarily restricted to scientific knowledge in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, but in an integration of knowledge aimed at an intervention in the preservation of the community's quality of life

The student must obtain the following skills: Characterize the evolution of the pharmacist's professional focus; Know the fundamentals of Pharmaceutical Care; Know the evaluation criteria of the scientific literature; Know and apply the principles of interpersonal communication; Evaluate and intervene in the most varied situations subject to Pharmaceutical Indication, as well as in the validation of the prescription and advice on the drug use process; Being able to intervene in the prevention of risk factors, in promoting adherence to therapy and in responsible self-medication; Acquire relevant knowledge about artificial nutrition, medical devices and other health products; Identify the main sources of medication errors; Know the National Pharmacovigilance System; To know the epidemiological characteristics of infections associated with Health Care.

Teaching Methods
Collective contact sessions for the transmission of fundamental knowledge where active methodologies that appeal to student / student interaction will be used, such as theoretical and practical activities, debates, group / peer research work, problem solving / exploring CTS & A situations, which allows cooperative learning, a very effective method of solving problems and promoting learning.
The assessment is carried out through: Final exam (65%); Work on pharmaceutical practice in clinical situations of intervention by the pharmacist (15%); Participation in theoretical and practical classes: discussion of practical cases within the scope of pharmacotherapy and pharmaceutical care (10%); communication skills (10%).
