The UC aims to provide students with the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the field of Pharmacotherapeutic Follow-up, enabling them to implement and develop related pharmaceutical services in the Community Pharmacy.

Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

Provide students with the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the field of Pharmaceutical Care, enabling them to implement and develop related pharmaceutical services in the Community Pharmacy.
In the context of this course, the integration of knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, clinical pharmacy and results of clinical laboratory will be highlighted. At the end of the course, students will know the methodology to be applied, will be able to understand the required interventions in the patient's clinical context (benefit-risk ratio) and to communicate with the doctor and the rest of the health team. Students will understand and will be able to identify and intervene to prevent and resolve the negative clinical results found and contribute to improving the patient's health and quality of life.

Teaching Methods

1. Theoretical presentations
2. In theoretical-practical classes, students apply the Pharmaceutical care methodology and solve real clinical cases. The discussion of clinical cases (among students and with the teacher) is privileged, training the critical spirit of students and the ability to manage their interventions
3. Practical classes take place in a simulated community pharmacy context by applying the methodology to a specific situation to be identified for each group of students.
Evaluation:
• Theoretical component - 2 Frequencies or final exam (70%)
• Theoretical-practical component: group monograph on clinical case (15%)
• Practical component: report of the practice of the simulated Pharmaceutical care case (15%)
• If and when it is possible to do all the teaching at the classroom, monograph and the practical component will be reduced to 10% and 10% will be attributed 10% to attendance to all components of teaching.
