Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

In this curricular unit students must acquire theoretical and practical knowledge as well as the regulatory framework for the networks and technical installations of buildings, namely the building networks for water distribution, drainage of wastewater and rainwater (A).
Fire safety nets (B) will be addressed with the reaction and fire resistance of materials and building elements (C). The aspects of design, sizing, assembly and installation (D), as well as the pathology and rehabilitation of the different types of networks studied (E) are presented with a focus on increasing water use efficiency (F).

Contents

1. Legislation and regulatory framework.
2. Coordination between the different projects.
3. Public toilet sanitation facilities
3.1. Water Supply Network.
3.2. Wastewater Drainage Network.
3.3. Rainwater Drainage Network.
4. Fire Fighting Network. Fire protection and fire resistance. Means of detaining. Means and Extinction Networks. Dry columns, armed fire nets and sprinkler facilities.

6. General notions on electrical installations, telecommunications, ventilation and air conditioning and gas installations.
7. Identification of pathologies in installations in buildings. Maintenance and preventive conservation. Rehabilitation procedures of facilities. 8. Efficiency in water use.

Teaching Methods

The teaching is carried out through theoretical-practical classes, in which the subjects are presented through the exhibition and interactive method, using information technologies, necessary for students to acquire the basis for understanding the principles of Quality and Safety in Construction. Exercises that help in the understanding and analysis of the exposed materials will be proposed and resolved in a structured way. It is also promoted the analysis of case studies and group work with collection of information essential to the applied study and problem solving. The collection of information outside the will be promoted in order to carry out the desired practical work.

Assessment

The evaluation is ensured by carrying out practical work in the form of a project (Trab) and a frequency during the semester or a final examination (Exa). Normal season: continuous evaluation (0.5Freq + 0.5Trab) or final evaluation (0.5Exa + 0.5Trab). The evaluation in time of appeal, special, extraordinary meets the following components: 0.5Exa+ 0.5Trab.
Minimum score of 8.5 val in any of the Trab and 9.5 val nas Freq or Exa.
