Sustainable Development Goals
Learning Goals
It is intended that this course unit provides basic but solid knowledge about Statistics (A), Probability Theory (B) as well as Data Analysis Methodologies (C), ensuring the correct knowledge of concepts, as well as the discussion and adequate interpretation of the results. Students should have enough solid knowledge for further development within the scope of the exercise of professional activity but also at the level of research and specializations.
Through the use of statistical software, one should learn to rigorously quantify the intrinsic uncertainty associated with data from the various areas of Civil Engineering (D).

8. Simple and multiple linear regression.
Teaching Methods
The teaching is carried out through theoretical-practical classes and laboratory practices, in which the subjects are presented through the expository and interactive method, using information technologies and proprietary software, necessary for students to acquire the skills associated with Statistics and Data Analysis. as matters of indisputable importance within the scope of Civil Engineering. Exercises will be proposed and solved in a structured way that help in the understanding and analysis of the exposed subjects. Practice is also promoted through group work in order to solve problems.
Assessment
Assessment is ensured through the completion of two practical assignments (Trab) and a frequency (Freq) during the semester or individual exam (Exa). Normal Season: continuous assessment (0.5Freq + 0.5Work) or final assessment (0.6Exa + 0.4Work). The evaluation at the time of appeal, special, extraordinary meets the following components: 0.6Exa+ 0.4Trab. Minimum grade of 8.5 val in any of the Work and 9.5 val in Freq or Exa.
