"BES Renewable Energies Chair"

The University of Évora (Portugal) opens a call for applications to the position of “BES Renewable Energies Chair”. This position is for five years and the applicants for the position will be evaluated by a board comprising external experts.

The appointed chair is expected to have an international reputation for research in “Renewable Energies, namely Solar thermal and thermoelectric conversions, and storage technologies”.

He or she is required to pursue a research programme at the forefront of the subject, providing research leadership to colleagues working in this and nearby fields; to play a major role in securing funding for research and in broadening the Chair’s research portfolio, seeking strategic directions and alliances; and to contribute to promoting postgraduate teaching and training of PhD students.

A competent salary status will be provided which includes an annual stipend equivalent to full professor (€65000 – €75 000).

Essential requirements for the post are:

An excellent track record in research and a demonstrable ability to compete for independent external grant support;
Evidence of leadership at an international level in the specific field;
A strong commitment to fostering postgraduate training with personal expertise in oral and written communication skills.
